Mr. White is entering his thirteenth year of teaching; his third in Monett. Mr. White is a 2006 graduate of Lockwood High School, MO. Upon graduating high school, Mr. White enrolled at Pittsburg State University in Kansas, where he was an active member in the Pride of the Plains marching band and pep bands, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and the Heavy Metal Tuba Ensemble.
Mr. White graduated in December of 2010 with a Bachelor of Music Education degree. He then started work on his Master of Music at Pittsburg State, studying with Dr. Craig Fuchs, graduating in May of 2012. Mr. White has served as the Assistant Director at Seneca HS (2012-2016) and Director of Bands at El Dorado Springs HS (2016-2022). Mr. White is currently serving as the SWMMEA Junior High Band VP, specifically leading the organization of the seventh-grade honor band. |
Ms. Stewart is entering her fourth year of teaching in Monett R-1 Schools. She is a 2016 graduate of Fayetteville High School. Following graduation in 2016, Ms. Stewart began attending the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education in May 2021; and she graduated with a Graduate Certificate in Music Education for Students with Special Needs in December 2021. While in college, Ms. Stewart was actively involved and held several offices in Sigma Alpha Iota and Tau Beta Sigma, organizations that provide service to music and bands in the community. She is currently taking graduate courses towards a Masters of Music in Music Education from Arkansas Tech University while continuing to teach here in Monett.
Ms. Stewart has been playing music since she was five years old. She played piano, then began in band on the flute before switching to the oboe, which she has been playing for the past thirteen years. Throughout her time in Marching Bands, she marched bass drum, spun with the color guard and played mellophone. She also played mellophone in the Hogwild basketball pep band in college. Ms. Stewart currently plays oboe with the MSU Community Band in Springfield, Missouri. Ms. Stewart is also a co-sponsor for the Middle School Student Council. In her free time, she loves to travel and photograph. She is looking forward to another great year of music making in Monett. Go Cubs! |
Ms. Wilson is entering her 4th year of teaching; her first at Monett. Ms. Wilson is a 2015 graduate of Reeds Spring High School, Mo. Upon graduating high school Ms. Wilson attended Northwest Missouri State University, where she was an active member in the Symphonic band, Wind Symphony, Bearcat Marching Band, and Percussion Ensemble.
Ms. Wilson graduated in May of 2021 with a Bachelors of Music Education and then moved closer to home to begin her teaching career at the Verona school district as the K-12 music teacher. She began working on her Masters of Music Education degree in Spring of 2023 and is slated to graduate in Spring of 2025. In her free time Ms. Wilson enjoys reading, painting, and spending time at home. She is very excited for this new adventure at Monett! |
